Healing and growth
What it actually takes to move through something hard, and how change tends to arrive in small, unglamorous steps.
Hosted and produced by Issy Kleiman
Life, Therapy, Honest Talk.
A podcast about the questions people actually ask when life gets hard. Listeners write in, and their questions shape the episodes. Nothing is scripted to sound tidy.
All episodes are hosted at askizzypodcast.com, the show's listening home.

About the show
“Ask Izzy is a podcast where meaningful conversations meet real-life insights. Every episode dives into life’s toughest questions, offering fresh perspectives, practical wisdom, and heartfelt stories.”
I started this show because the conversations that help people most rarely happen in a tidy, twenty-minute format. Listeners send in the question they have been sitting with, and we take it seriously: what is actually going on, what people get told that does not help, and what might genuinely make the next week easier.
Some episodes are practical. Some are about sitting with something that has no neat answer, including the ongoing thread about walking alongside my best friend through ALS. All of them are honest about what therapy can and cannot do.
What the show covers
What it actually takes to move through something hard, and how change tends to arrive in small, unglamorous steps.
How people keep going when life does not cooperate, and what support makes that possible.
The shape of grief over time, the things people are afraid to say out loud, and how to stay present with someone who is grieving.
Supporting a loved one through a serious illness, including an ongoing thread about walking alongside her best friend through ALS.
The daily realities of raising children, behaviour that is really communication, and keeping a relationship intact while doing it.
Real questions sent in by listeners, answered honestly and shaped into the episodes themselves.
A listener-driven show
This is a two-way format rather than a broadcast. Listeners send in what they are wrestling with, and those questions shape what gets recorded. For a producer or an editor, that is worth knowing: there is an engaged audience here that writes in, not just a download count.
You do not need to be a client, and you do not need to be in Washington. Send a question and it may become an episode.
Issy hosts and produces Ask Izzy herself, which means she is already comfortable with a microphone, a recording schedule and a conversation that has to hold up without editing tricks.
Submit a question
