A note from Issy
Hello, and welcome.
My work has moved from therapy rooms and graduate classrooms to supervision, writing, speaking, and podcasting. I taught graduate courses at Antioch University Seattle from 2010 to 2012. Today I host Ask Izzy and speak with clinicians and public audiences about mental health, relationships, and the issues that shape care.
I also lead Counseling Services for Wellbeing, where therapists and psychiatric providers can coordinate within one team.
As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, I support associates and licensed clinicians as they assess cases, consider ethical questions, and address the demands of the work.
Care at the practice is affirming and culturally responsive for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent communities.
Background
Experience & perspective
Earlier in my career, I worked with individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents. From 2010 to 2012, I taught graduate courses as an Associate Professor at Antioch University Seattle: Family of Origin, Family Life Cycle, Applied Couples, and Case Consult. That experience informs my supervision and conversations with organizations about mental health and relationships.
Also hosting
Ask Izzy: Life, Therapy, Honest Talk.
A listener-driven podcast where the questions sent in by the audience shape the episodes, on grief, resilience, caregiving, parenting and healing.
A continuing conversation
My story.
My early clinical work taught me to pay attention to the relationships and circumstances surrounding a person, not only the immediate concern. That perspective still shapes how I lead, supervise, and speak about mental health.
